After a great Chesapeake Bay striper season for the month of November we find ourselves once again tied up at the Va beach Fishing Center to continue our striper fishing until mid March. So far the fishing has been outstanding to say the least. We have ran nearly every day since arriving on December 10 and the fish have cooperated quite nicely. This year has shown that the fish are a little later in arriving by the volume of undersized fish that we are culling through. In seasons past, we would hardly see a fish under the 28 inch minimum but this year we have seen plenty of them. That to me is good news. The sheer volume of fish located off the coast is amazing and we have not even seen the majority of the fish that are still up the coast and the schools that are heading down from the bay. In years past when we have had this late run of fish it usually has produced some outstanding fishing until the end of the season. We are smack dab in the middle of the absolute best fishing location the East coast has to offer for striped bass. Look for the action to get even better in the upcoming months of Jan. & Feb. The water is starting to cool now with the snow melt trickling out of the bay. That will certainly get these fish schooling better and start their migration to the South. Those fish from the Northern states will collide with the fish from the Chesapeake Bay and all will hit these massive schools of bait that are off the Va coast. This should hold them here throughout the winter producing some world class fishing! Dont miss out on the action. We still have a few dates open throughout the season to get you that trophy striper of a lifetime. Be sure to check our reelbuzz reports for daily trip report with photos.
Until then, Happy Holidays to everyone and we will see you after Christmas!
