Virginia Beach Fishing with Adams Fishing Adventures
Virginia Beach fishing has almost everything an angler could ever wish to experience in a saltwater fishing trip. For local and visiting anglers alike Virginia Beach fishing means many great options to choose from. Charters in Va Beach offer everything from winter time striper fishing just along the shoreline to summer and fall deep drop fishing on wrecks as far as 60 plus miles offshore. The ride out can be long but the fishing is spectacular and well worth it.
Virginia Beach striper fishing has been very hot the past few years even though the season is only open during the winter which fortunately are relatively short-lived in Virginia. But it is all worth a bit of shivering when you pull a 50 pound striper on board. Anglers usually warm right up when that happens.
Just a couple of miles down the coast from Rudee Inlet in Virginia Beach is access to the world famous Chesapeake Bay. Chesapeake Bay fishing is still fishing in Virginia Beach but it offers something a little bit different than typical ocean or deep sea fishing. Bottom fishing is the most common method of fishing in the Chesapeake Bay and Chesapeake Bay bottom fishing will yield fish like flounder, trout, spot, and croaker. There are also some larger species for those looking to catch a monster on every drop down. Rockfish a.k.a. striper are readily available, cobia, and black drum which can reach weights approaching 100 pounds are also available.
Captain Jeff offers trips for everything that has been mentioned including Bay fishing, trophy striper fishing, and deep drop wreck fishing in Virginia Beach offshore coastal waters.

Virginia Beach Deep Drop Fishing
Deep drop fishing in Virginia Beach is relatively new as far as recreational fishing goes. Wreck fishing for sea bass and tautog has been a mainstay off the Va Beach coast for decades and deep drop fishing is just an extension of that. Fishing in much deeper waters, near 300', you will still catch sea bass but additionally you will catch tilefish. Blueline tiles, golden tiles, and even a few grouper are now on the target species list.
Because deep drop fishing and tile fishing is relatively new there have been state records caught and then topped, and then topped again. Who knows, there might be a record tilefish waiting for you on one of those deep water wrecks. Virginia Beach deep drop fishing is a little more work for anglers due to the, well deep drops, but the rewards are much greater and anglers will come back for more everytime.
When you are ready for a new kind of fishing trip, "Deep Drop Fishing", be sure to check Captain Jeff's rates page for prices on deep drop fishing off the Virginia coast. |

VB Striper Fishing |
Did you know that the current Virginia Beach Striper Fishing,
especially winter striper fishing, is the best striper fishing action that the entire mid-Atlantic region has seen since the 1970's? Due to over fishing, the striper, or rockfish as many locals call them, were at the brink of complete annihilation. Commercial fishing and even unregulated recreational striper fishing caused the striper to all but disappear from the Chesapeake Bay. Throughout the 80's it was bluefish and trout that were the most targeted species.
But the 1990's brought with it some very good fishing news, if you liked striper fishing that is. With new re-stocking programs from different organizations, government, and marine biologists the striper came back with vengeance. Striper were everywhere, along the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, in the ocean along the Virginia Beach coast, and just about anywhere there was saltwater. Striper just about jumped in the boat. This time the striper will have a chance to stick around as they have initiated many rules and laws that anglers must adhere to when they are fishing for striper. |
